Bank failures from 2008 - 2009
It’s a tough world out there. The real estate market is in a real slump and your friends and neighbors are getting laid off left and right. You downgrade to a one-bedroom apartment from your four-bedroom home and you muster all of the inner strength you have to withdraw money from Washington Mutual, or what used to be Washington Mutual, only to find that Chase is your “new” bank.
